Power Options: The boom box can be operated on household AC current when the supplied AC adapter is used. The unit can also operate 8 D-cell batteries, allowing you to take it with you wherever you go. The batteries are automatically bypassed whenever the AC adapter is plugged into the unit.
Antenna: The unit comes with a Sirius satellite antenna with a 19-9" cable. The antenna cable has a single SMB connector. You must place the antenna in a location that has a relatively clear view of the Sirius satellite paths. For convenience, the antenna can be mounted to the 4 pegs on the back of the unit. Dimensions: Width=2.57", Height=1.32" (3.643 with antenna raised), Depth=3.225" Note: Sirius has three satellites that fly in a figure-8 pattern that crosses the central U.S.. Antenna placement will depend upon where you live in the continental United States.
Controls: The boom box features only two controls: a top-mounted power switch/volume control and a switch that lets you toggle between the satellite radio and the auxiliary input. The 3/4" tall power switch/volume control is located on the top of the unit and glows blue to indicate when the units power is on.
Inputs/Outputs: In addition to the receiver dock, the DC power input, and the SMB antenna jack, the boom box has one 3.5mm (1/8") mini-jack Auxiliary Input for plugging in a portable CD or MP3 player or other external audio device, and a 3.5mm mini-jack Auxiliary Output for connecting the boom box to another amplifier if desired. For private listening, you can use the top-mounted headphone jack (3.5mm mini-jack) for plugging in a set of stereo headphones. When headphones are plugged in, the units speakers are muted.
