ANSWER BY CUSTOMER A: I had a similar issue with my '03 Acura CL-S factory radio. Apparently the cd shuttle was getting stuck and causing. The error.. the disks I blew a bit of compressed air i to the cd slot and that improved movement.. though the disks wohld stop just inside the door. I fashio ed a hook to grab the disks by the center hole. After extracting the disks this way about a dozen times.. the unit has been working properly. If you try this.. use an expendible disk, just i. Case you do t fare as wellas I did. BTW.. Even with the "err 01" message, I was able to toggle to cd1 (grom's location) aanduse the adaptor. I had other concer s that I will post separately but overall I am very pleased with the grom.

Answer by AutoToys Staff A: The aux cable is now the new AUX + USB + 3.5 cable, UNLESS you order IPOD and AUX and BLUETOOTH, and in that configuration when you order everything, the aux is a simple 3.5 that goes on the ipod cable (since there are only 2 jacks)
Answer by AutoToys Staff A: If you order the unit with AUX and BLUETOOTH only, you will get the new AUX cable which is an 3.5 with USB charging and a Bluetooth Kit. This will take BOTH of the ports. If you order an IPOD cable AND Aux AND Bluetooth, the ipod cable and bluetooth will take up both ports and then we send you a female aux cable that goes on the ipod cable which will then turn that into an aux. I hope this makes sense to you. This is the only way to do it now since all 2 ports are taken when you use Ipod and Bluetooth. Of course, you can do Bluetooth and Aux only and then use the Ipod in BLUETOOTH mode, but there will be no playlist control and no text
Answer by AutoToys Staff A: If you need Bluetooth only, select ADD Bluetooth only. Ipod adds the ipod cable so you can charge an ipod and also control it through an ipod cable. You cannot use the original USB to apple cable, you need to buy the GROM IPOD cable to charge. The aux cable is if you want to connect to a 3.5 headphone jack, if you do not need this, do not select or buy it.

When you buy from us, you get access to UNCUT videos which show more of our installs. You need to buy the entire package though. The USB unit comes with an USB FEMALE extension cable, which goes to the GROM USB, and then has a female jack. If connecting to an android phone, you wiill still need the mini usb cable you use at home with your computer or charger. If you are buying BLUETOOTH, AUX and Ipod, the AUX cable actually goes on the IPOD cable to give you aux,since there are only 2 ports on this device.

If you plan to run a longer cable run, you need a longer ipod cable,select EXTEND cable run when ordering the description. You also CANNOT FLASH for XM (TEXT) since you are using XM. If you flash for XM, you MUST disconnect the original XM tuner.

To get text to work in any honda or acura, you must be capable of having XM and must disconnect the XM Tuner. Otherwise select regular version which works as a cd changer mode (but no text)
Bluetooth is compatible with XM FLASH or NO XM flash.

The Direct sound is slightly different than the bluetooth sound, since it is coming out of the dock connector which is digital. But you are right, you do not gain much in non xm cars because you do not get text. You STILL get PLAYLIST control though with DISC 2- through 6 which is NOT available through bluetooth.
