The AFSI-02 is designed to retain the features of the Ford Sync system allowing
for the replacement of the non-navigation factory radio. The AFSI-02 does not alter
how the Ford Sync system operates, however the AFSI-02 will provide a 12-volt
accessory with the retained accessory power (R.A.P.) feature, illumination, and for
those radios that have built in navigation, parking brake, reverse, and speed sense
(VSS) outputs.
NOTE: Please read the Ford Sync manual that is provided with your vehicle on how
to operate the Ford Sync system. The AFSI-02 does not alter the way the Ford Sync
system operates, or the buttons that are used.
NOTE: For proper Sync operation the aftermarket radio to be installed must have
an auxiliary audio input.
NOTE: The volume control on the steering wheel will still control the volume of the
phone and voice prompts. If you want the volume control on the steering wheel to
control the aftermarket radio, the use of the Axxess ASWC (sold separately) would
be required.
