    The racing version of the BMW Sport Shifter. This shifter was engineered with the serious racer in mind. Special features engineered into this unit include a one piece 416 heat-treated stainless steel stick, exclusive integrated and dampened pivot cup with self lubricating pivot ball, exclusive polymer Iglide T-500 lower pivot bushings that are impervious to contamination. The harder this bushing is pushed, the better it works! Featuring an exclusive adjustable pivot, which allows this shifter to fit both standard and M Series applications. All of this combined with a simple straightforward installation provides a top of the line race shifter. Provides a 25% throw reduction in E30s, E36s, E39s and E46s and a 20% throw reduction in M3 and M5 applications. This is the shifter that is used by many of the BMW racers in the SCCA World Challenge Touring Car class. Fits 84 to 91 E30, 92 to 99 E36, 96 to 02 E39 and 98 to 02 E46. Fits 87 to 02 M3 and 99 to 02 M5 applications.

    A B&M Precision Shifter is a direct, bolt-on, self-contained unit. When you buy a B&M Precision Shifter, along with the complete shifter unit, you get explicit installation instructions. Installation usually takes about 30 minutes with nothing more than ordinary hand tools.

    Should Accuracy and Shift Throw Matter To Me?
    Accuracy is crucial in a performance driving situation. A missed shift at high RPMs can cause severe transmission damage. Shift throw refers directly to the actual physical travel of the shifter stick - affecting the time it takes to shift from one gear to another. Again, in a performance situation, the additional seconds (or fractions of a second) a factory stock shifter takes to go from one gear to another can result in slower elapsed times. A B&M Precision Shifter will eliminate that sluggish, imprecise shift feel in a daily driver, and gives the racer that extra edge.
