Installation:

• Plugs in at RADIO. (radio removal is required, plugs into back of radio)

• Right at the head unit! Make sure you get the radio removal tools from our dash kit department if you dont have it already.

• This interface will work with all Factory Audi symphony/symphony ii radios with the 6 disc indash!

Requires a free cd changer port. If you have a external CD changer connected or any option that uses the cd changer port (internal cd changers dont count) this adapter will not work.

This adapter takes sound directly (stereo) via 2 RCA jacks and feeds it directly into the car stereo (just switch to CD changer mode - See factory manual) and voila, direct input sound.

Great for Portable Satellite radio connections, Portable MP3 players, in car entertainment video feeds, etc.

FAQ: Why does it have to connect at the head unit?
Some of the newer audis with symphony ii radios and in dash changers have different software. Also, some of the cars are not prewired properly, for that reason, this package plugs in behind the factory radio. In older Audis/Vws, the factory cd changer plug could be detached. The factory changer plug (part of the 3 color design) can no longer be detached. Our package includes a CUSTOM Y connector which will allow our interface to sit into the factory radio and then the factory cables plug back into our Y-Interface. Perfect fit, easy to install. Requires radio removal keys! (see accessories in product description)

INCOMPATIBLE:

Note: This product requires an open factory cd changer port. Internal changers (built into the radio does not use the port). SAT options, etc will use the port.
-Once the aux adapter is plugged in, it should remain plugged in until you decide to discontinue using the product and return to full time use of your external changer or sat option.

Some converters are trunk located, you may want to consider picking up a rca cable with a length of at least 12 feet to complete your install. Volume Performance of source will vary with different types of products (some inexpensive portable players have very weak headphone amplification circuits).
