Introduction: Products: Many people want to add Domelight Supervision to their vehicles if their alarm is equipped with a output to light their entry when disarming the alarm in the night. Most alarms come with a low voltage GROUND output for Domelight Supervision. This circuit cannot be tied directly into the domelight or door pinswitch wire for several reasons. This is usually a low voltage ground, less than 250ma because it is transistorized. If you tie it directly into the car's circuit, it will probably burn the alarm's output because the domelight wire usually has a feedback from the interior light bulb. Also, if you own a FORD vehicle or some other vehicle that has a 12V domelight pinswitch, sending a negative to a + will not mix well. The ONLY time you can tie into the alarm domelight supervision wire into the factory domelight is when you find the FACTORY DOMELIGHT SUPERVISION wire. Most cars with Keyless entry keypads on the doors will have such a trigger. If you are not qualified or experienced enough to find this wire, use the alternative method with a 30 amp BOSCH equivalent relay.. if you do not have one, we will provide one for you with connectors for a nominal charge -- with your order or after it, or if you bought your alarm somewhere else, we will still send it to you for only the shipping and packing fees -- we are committed to your satisfaction. Below is for a NEGATIVE DOOR TRIP SYSTEM (MOST CARS)
BELOW IS FOR a (+ POSITIVE) TYPE SYSTEM (MOST FORDs and OTHERS--Please note: some Fords---Probes, Escorts, Contours, and others are NEGATIVE. Please identify your door circuit correctly, if you have ANY questions, send us email!)
