Introduction: Products: Installation of a PIAA foglight kit from AUTOTOYS.COM is simple. We will outline the installation of a set of PIAA 1000X (part PIAA1092). This is the new PLATINUM series from PIAA and features an chrome housing with a SUPERWHITE light bulb (which is close to the brightness of HID lighting) This article will outline the Platinum 1000X light kit into a 1998 Honda Accord. In this installation, no cutting was needed. However, in certain situations, removal of `some parts´ of the grill is necessary to mount aftermarket foglights. Usually, this means just cutting a 4 inch span from your horizontal grill work. (easily done with a pair of snips or scissors). Remember: When you purchase a PIAA or HELLA foglight kit from AUTOTOYS.COM, we provide you with real installer- experience support, free tech sheets and also FREE SHIPPING within the 48 states. (the price you see on PIAA FOGLIGHT kits >$100.00) is the price you pay! Parts used in this article

Unaltered or unretouched photo (except for license plate) of SUPERWHITE 1000X platinum series PIAA foglights installed on Honda. This vehicle features aftermarket 9005 blue diamond headlight bulbs. You can see how much brighter the 55 watt SUPERWHITE BULB (which PIAA rates at 85 watts aftermarket) is compared to the low beam headlights.
Picture of how we ran the wires for the foglights. We taped the prewired PIAA harness with black electrical tape. THIS REALLY IS A PLUG IN INSTALLATION with the PIAA prewired harness that comes with every foglight kit
PAN shot of the lights. No drilling was required for this installation. The lights can be mounted using the special adhesive tape that comes with the lights without ANY drilling or it can be fastened using the screws the light comes with. Wireties and tapping connectors are also included in all PIAA foglight kits
Closeup view of the switch that comes with the PIAA foglight kits. Plugs in. Will light red when the light is on, will light green when it is off. AUTOTOYS.COM mounted the light in a blank knockout on this Accord.
Steps to installing a pair of PIAA foglights: 1. Mount lights 2. Connect prewired relay harness to POSITIVE terminal of battery 3. Connect prewired grounds to - battery terminal or a car chassis ground point 4. PLUG in installed foglights to prewired harness 5. Mount switch, plug in switch. THATS ALL! Photo above shows PIAA PLATINUM lights on with LOW BEAM and HIGH BEAM of headligfhts on. The 55 watt PLATINUM SERIES BULB is brighter than the 85 watt FACTORY UNIT! and draws less current and produces less heat!
Shown is the prewired PIAA harness and fuse holder, Just connect it to the positive terminal of your battery!
Prewired harness has ring terminals connected already. We opted not to use the negative battery terminal, instead we used a factory ground point and fastened our PIAA ground connectors as shown in the picture. 1 10mm bolt.
Plug in connector from prewired PIAA harness. It´s that simple
