This is an autotoys.com installation. One of several
hundred by the staff of autotoys.com
This article is a sample of knowledge gained by working on real
cars for over 25+ years.
Online for over 17+ years, when you buy a product from us,
we give you real support when you need it.
Instant access to answers through our customer forums. With thousands
of customers, avoid delays, errors and miscalculations in your
installation.. buy from autotoys.com - your outlet for car audio,
car alarms and auto accessories.
If you have an interest in any of the products
in this article, everything featured (electrical tape, connectors,
radio, alarm, wire ties, rca cables, diodes, screws --- everything is available 'now' (FOR SALE!) through our storefront).
Remember, there may be many manufacturers out there who sell similar
products as the ones featured in our articles, but if you want
a problem-free smooth professional install, your only guarantee is to buy the same parts we use (see our storefront).
Any slight difference in any of the parts and your install is
ruined (plus you won't have access to our post sale support or
forums). Especially important for alarm, radio and OEM changer
Sales People (be careful!)::
Everyday, we get dozens of requests through
our chat & ticket support system, request for forum passwords,
questions on installation problems or questions. We can only focus on questions from our customers. The questions are simple..
the answers are simple - but these people, because they did not
buy from AUTOTOYS.COM cannot get an answer. Dont make a mistake
by buying through auctions, fly by night operations or new pop
up websites who are just a voice over the phone (a sales person)
with absolutely NO EXPERIENCE.
No experience installing in cars, no experience what-so-ever!
They barely know the products they sell! Don't make that mistake!
Make sure your purchase is from autotoys.com. These articles are
proof we know what we are doing and that we WORK IN CARS! We work on the newest cars with
the newest products.
Pictures of changing the front and rear speakers in a 1990 Nissan 240SX
The factory speakers sounded terrible. The customer could not understand why they sounded so poorly after we switched the head unit
out with a high power Clarion CD deck.
Used in this vehicle was a custom kit needed:
See dash kit department in storefront
A wire harness was also used, which allows plug in installation a new aftermarket radio, see:
A Nissan antenna adapter is also required for this vehicle and MOST nissan vehicles, because it uses a non-standard antenna plug which is not compatible with aftermarket radios, see:
We started with the Passenger door shown above, there is one screw on the door handle. Remove this with a #2
or #3 screwdriver. Then rotate the handle and it will pull straight upwards and it will remove.
Shown above is a picture of the door handle removed. The power window switch will also pop up (it is held in by
clips, remove the one screw from inside the door grab first) - The trim around the doorlock switch/door handle simple pops off.
Shown above is a view of where the screw has to be removed before the power window switch and assembly can
be removed. (like that skyview?)

We found out why the factory speakers sounded so bad!
Another instance of speaker dry rot. Notice that the factory speakers had the ENTIRE surround missing! We was amazed again that these speakers were still playing. These speakers were found in a late model vehicle! Notice the speakers are of the dual cone variety, the customer chose a entry level 4x6 set of speakers from Pioneer. Price was a concern, but this pair of Pioneer 4611s still had new technology and a separate co-axial
tweeter which improved imaging and sound by 500%! Even if your factory speakers are not in a shape as bad as these pair, they will still benefit from being upgraded to a aftermarket unit, especially if your car is at least 3-4 years old
For more speakers available, see below:
