This is an installation we did in an S-Class Mercedes Benz. We kept it as factory as possible, with the install of a Pioneer AVIC 9 DVD Navigation DVD system and a Pioneer AVDW6010 monitor. No holes were drilled. The products we used in this install included a Panavise S-Class Cellular mount for the AVDW6010 monitor. The AVDW6010 6.5 Pioneer monitor has a built in IR receiver for the Navigation's remote control and a built in speaker for the voice commands. Whats unique about the AVDW6010 is that it is FULLY DETACHABLE. You slide the unit down and it locks into place (connections also), when you need to detach it, it will slide up and out without any need to detach any power and control cables! This makes things ultra easy. Using the AVDW6010 monitor, we also were able to control the Navigation system directly and when the Navigation disc is not inside, the customer can watch regular DVDs, VCDs or listen to a CD. The Navigation DVD (included) covers the entire US and Canada and includes all Points of Interest.
It is VOICE GUIDED, say something like GAS STATION and it will bring you to the closest gas station. Say RETURN HOME, it will bring you home. Name your friend's house, with any name (for example, my favorite girlfriend) and say that "my favorite girlfriend") and it will understand and start plotting the route. This system is the ONLY Navigation out on the market with MULTIPLE type of driving displays (drive it like a video game) and is voice guided. It also has telephone # search (you can also use your voice to input the numbers), address search, closest freeway search and much more! Test fit for the DVD unit in the glove compartment. We needed to make a few modifications, including some custom work with Vinyl (see our tools department). The DVD unit has a fan on the back, you need to give it air and make sure when you close the glove, it will not damage or crush the DVD NAVIGATION unit.
