In this autotoys.com installation,
we showcase a Mercedes SL convertible. A very popular car and this vehicle (even some 1980 era) still continue to sell > $15,000 We swap out the factory Becker radio an Aftermarket detachable faceplate. We add Stinger amplifier accessories to wire a Rockford Fosgate RFG 120.2 amplifier to power an 8 inch subwoofer tube - and upgrade the old style headlamps to Hella units which have a better reflector. Radio: Headlight
conversion: The radio installation was an easy one. Took about 15 minutes. The cage of the radio needs to be fastened to the car. The surround of the original radio has a flat surface which the DIN cage cannot lock into. You also need to run RCA cables to the back of the car for the amplifier (if you plan to add one), we ran it down the middle. You will need a can of Spray glue to complete the job. The amplifier was mounted under the rear deck storage area. The power and ground wires were ran from the battery and 2 modifications to the battery cover was needed. We added a Stinger SCPT301 fuse holder in the back. Modifications to the front headlamp area was also needed to fit the HELLA 5 inch aftermarket light conversions. We have all of this information available if you want do any of the above. This
is a shot of our Stinger 16 gauge HPM purple twisted speaker
wire. Because the 8 gauge Stinger pro power wire was too thick (too many strands) to screw down, we used the Stinger fork terminals to bind the 8 gauge wire to the Rockford fosgate amplifier. These parts including all the wires is IN STOCK now in our tools department at http://store.autotoys.com

Our
HELLA headlight conversion! Uses H1 bulbs now instead of replacing the entire housing. The reflector is also flat and is much better than the factory headlight housing.
