1996-2000 Civics owners all have something in common. A really ugly radio. A tuner, lack of style and no CD or cassette capabilities. Why add on the factory CD or cassette player, for the same cost or MUCH less, add an aftermarket unit which has MORE features and you can do it yourself!

Remove the glove door, push the 2 little rubber boots inward and slide it down. SEE PICTURE. Those tabs break easily, see our photo!

Remove the 4 philips screws holding the 12 output panel in place, 2 on the right, 2 on the left, the 2 on the right has one philips and one 10mm (philips also) screw.

Remove the 4 screws holding the radio trim/bezel. 10mm also.

WARNING: BE VERY CAREFUL IN THIS AREA, WEAR GLOVES IF POSSIBLE. THE METAL IN THIS AREA IS VERY VERY VERY SHARP and WILL CUT YOU EASILY. You need to push out the radio and trim bezel (some strength is required, do this carefully after giving your vent controls wires some slack by cutting where they are fastened in the vehicle). Please note, there are clips on the top and bottom of the trim bezel, some force is required, but do it delicately.

A look at the radio once the entire trim piece is removed.

Note the HONDA SQUARE CD changer port on the back of the radio. You will need to access this port if you are using one of our OEM PLUG IN COMPATIBLE changer solutions available in our OEM DEPARTMENT.

Kit used: Honda 828 Multi kit. This kit will fit 1990-1999 Honda Accord, 99-00 Civic, 97-99 CRV, 1995-1998 Honda Odyssey, 1992-1999 Honda Prelude, 1990-1996 Honda Integra, 1986-1999 Acura Legend, 1992-1994 Acura Vigor, 1997-1999 Acura CL (see dash kit department in storefront).

Wire harness: AUTOTOYS 1721 Square 98+ HONDA (see dash kit department in storefront).
