Our store has completed close to a hundred or more BMW compatible changers in the last few weeks alone for 1997-2000 BMW 3 and 5 series vehicles. We had a “0.5%” return rate on these changers because of defective converters or changers. We had one or 2 isolated instances
of defective changers which were quickly exchanged for “NEW” sealed changers. The converter carries a limited lifetime warranty from the manufacturer.
The product is proven and reliable. The only time when a changer will not work is when the customer chose not to read the instructions of the product correctly when ordering. It specifically states the changer is not compatible with vehicles with COAX AUDIO connections, not compatible with vehicles with DSP (digital sound processing), and of the PREM sound systems or cars with Navigation. So please, read the instructions carefully because the sale of the changer is final and we list clearly write the vehicles which are not compatible in the product description for a reason! There is no possible way for ‘us’ to know which model of radio your car is equipped with.
There has been a lot of e-mails concerning the new BMW 5 series changer we offer. This changer will work for all BMW 5 series vehicles, 1997, 1998 and 1999 with Business RDS and Professional RDS. The changer can be purchased in 4 forms (10 disc, 6 disc and in 2 formats) - COMPACT DISC and MINIDISC. The changers will work in 5 series vehicles with I-BUS protocols, guaranteed - controlled by the factory radio directly. NO RF. Plugs into cable prewired in the trunk.However, there was also a lot of interest from BMW 3 series owners.

1. We had no definite answer, so we decided to pull a 3 series in and test for ourselves. We performed a test in a
-1997- 318ti with the M/Sport package. Since this customer´s vehicle had an aftermarket radio in it already, you will notice 2 radios in the vehicle. One on the left (ignore that one) and the original radio which came with the car on the right. We used a PLUG IN HARNESS (available in our `tools´ department in our storefront on the aftermarket radio so all we had to do was UNPLUG the aftermarket radio and plug the factory radio back in for the test!
Shown above is our changer cables box plugged into the factory cables located in the LEFT TAILLIGHT area. The carpet was easily removed in this 318ti. The cables were are PLUG AND PLUG!
