There is a lot of talk of the transponder based system in the new 1998 and 1999 Accords. Everyone has been emailing us on how to bypass the system, we can’t tell you exactly how to do it. But we will show you some tips, if you are a customer of ours and purchased a remote start from us, email or call us and we’ll tell you the EXACT procedures. We also have a new transponder key ring interface, go to our storefront and search under TRANSPONDER

This is a recent installation of a CRIMESTOPPER 700RS remote start in a 1999 Accord 4 door. We’ll highlight some alarm connections in this article as well as most of the remote start connections.

All of the products, including all connectors, ring terminals, crimpers and security products can be found in our storefront for sale.

Shown above is the tach wire for the vehicle and where to find it. We used T-taps to tap the wire and loom to protect the wire from heat and the elements. We then secured the wire with wireties from any moving parts. ALL OF THESE ACCESSORIES, Loom in all diameters, t-taps, connectors and wireties are available in the TOOL SECTIONS in our storefront. ALWAYS IN STOCK, because our AUTOTOYS.COM STAFF INSTALLERS use them in EVERYDAY installations!

The wire is yellow/blue (-) measure with meter, set to AC
There will be 3 other wires in the harness. The 2 other ones, black/yellow and yellow are ignition color wires so we assume the other 2 are the - part of the coil (tach)

Well, immobilizer bypass kits (universal ones) and digital ones are NOW available and things are a lot easier. We used to do it the hard way, and when presented with a problem, because we were real installers, we were up to the challenge!
