BACK TO *1999* YEAR TECH SUMMARY | BACK TO DIY 2000-2006 TECH SUMMARY
Introduction: Products: When the new 1999 Pioneer radios came out, we knew something was special about these radios. New price which makes it very affordable, new features, soft volume buttons and a new thing called EASY EQ which is available on almost all of the 1999 CD and Cassette radios.
Well, the staff of AUTOTOYS.COM decided to install a top of the line 1999 KEHP7800 AM/FM/CASSETTE with a CDX 1230 changer in a 1998 Honda Passport. We also changed the front and rear speakers at the same time. It worked out great and the sound was a definite improvement! click below for the links on some of the products we used in this installation.

FACTORY VS AFTERMARKET CAR SPEAKERS We replaced the grungy front speakers with a pair of Infinity 52is (5.25 2 way with swivel tweeter) CONE SPEAKER vs COAXIAL? NO COMPARISON. It was a perfect fit!
SEE THE OEM PLUG IN CHANGERS HERE
Wow, look at all that room behind the factory radio!
We mounted the changer on the right because the gas tank and hoses were all gathered to the left. If you are installing a OEM plug in changer, you would use the same spot. Shown is a Pioneer 12 disc changer mounted in a vertical position by the STAFF OF AUTOTOYS.COM
Use the sills to run your changer cables, just tuck it underneath
Factory grills are held in by clips toward the front of the vehicle
New Infinity speaker installed! WHOA! Nice eh?
