BACK TO *1999* YEAR TECH SUMMARY | BACK TO DIY 2000-2006 TECH SUMMARY

Introduction:
This is an autotoys.com installation. One of several hundred by the staff of autotoys.com
This article is a sample of knowledge gained by working on real cars for over 18 years.
Online for over 10 years, when you buy a product from us, we give you real support when you need it.
Instant access to answers through our customer forums. With thousands of customers, avoid delays, errors and miscalculations in your installation.. buy from autotoys.com - your outlet for car audio, car alarms and auto accessories.

Products:
If you have an interest in any of the products in this article, everything featured (electrical tape, connectors, radio, alarm, wire ties, rca cables, diodes, screws --- everything is available 'now' (FOR SALE!) through our storefront). Remember, there may be many manufacturers out there who sell similar products as the ones featured in our articles, but if you want a problem-free smooth professional install, your only guarantee is to buy the same parts we use (see our storefront). Any slight difference in any of the parts and your install is ruined (plus you won't have access to our post sale support or forums). Especially important for alarm, radio and OEM changer products.

Sales People (be careful!)::
Everyday, we get dozens of requests through our chat & ticket support system, request for forum passwords, questions on installation problems or questions. We can only focus on questions from our customers. The questions are simple.. the answers are simple - but these people, because they did not buy from AUTOTOYS.COM cannot get an answer. Dont make a mistake by buying through auctions, fly by night operations or new pop up websites who are just a voice over the phone (a sales person) with absolutely NO EXPERIENCE.

No experience installing in cars, no experience what-so-ever! They barely know the products they sell! Don't make that mistake! Make sure your purchase is from autotoys.com. These articles are proof we know what we are doing and that we WORK IN CARS! We work on the newest cars with the newest products.

Power doorlock connections. Gray and Purple wires (- 3 wire negative). Green/Yellow (-) Factory security alarm disarm wire (requires high current ground)

Because this vehicle was a top of the line model, it had a factory security system. WE interfaced the factory alarm with one relay and several diodes. When disarming our aftermarket system, it will also disarm the factory unit.

Drilled a hole for the LED here

Shock sensor mounted.

We ran all of our wires for the shock sensor, LED and Valet switch together. All plug in.

Power, Ignition connections. White/Red (BAT), Black/White (IGN), Black/Yellow (STARTER)

(BUY THESE CONNECTORS HERE)

Parking light wire in driver’s kick panel. Red/Black (+)

This vehicle was manual. We had to find an alternative to run our siren wires through. We picked an area next to the throttle cable. Note: This area is DOUBLE METAL. Caution! DO NOT RUN WIRES CLOSE OR LOOP IT AROUND PEDAL/ROD. MAKE SURE ALL OF YOUR CABLES ARE TIGHT. Be sure before you drill, there are hoses and tubes on the engine side of the firewall.

This is a view from the other side.

If your car was an automatic, you can bring your wires through the blank clutch plate.

Close of view of the 2 diodes and which way the BAND should point when interfacing the doorlock unlock and factory disarm wire together.

We had to tie the trunk trigger wire (red -) and the Door trigger wire together (red/white -) because we needed to use the TAN input for a glass sensor. This is the way the bands should point on the diodes. (note: These diodes & connectors are available in our storefront, http://store.autotoys.com

(SEARCH UNDER DIODES)

DELUXE GLASS SENSOR used. Available in our STOREFRONT. Separate microphone. Easy connections.
